Megan Shaw is a sculptor interested in re-working found materials and commonplace items into playful, colourful and zany compositions to create new aesthetic outcomes with the quotidian.

Contrary to the bleak ecological and economic factors which allow the material conditions for Shaw’s practice, her utilisation of found materials is playful, colourful and energetic. This practice complements her research into contemporary aesthetics which relate to production, nostalgia, and allure.

Shaw completed Honours at Curtin University and was the recipient of First-Class Honours. During her Bachelor Degree she was the recipient of the Western Australia Women in Fine Art Scholarship, membership to the Vice Chancellors list, and the Endeavour Mobility Grant to complete units of her Undergrad at École Nationale Supérieure d'Art in Dijon, France. Shaw exhibited her first Solo show “Supernormal Stimuli at Cool Change Contemporary in 2020 and participated in a group show at Structura Gallery in Bulgaria and has undertaken artist residencies at World of Co, Bulgaria, and D.U.P.L.O in Cadiz, Spain in 2019.
